Iranian Holocaust Denial: Round ??
Why? What is the advantage gained by such a systematic and detailed denial? Who are they helping? Why would anyone defend this? This isn't Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's President, but a representative of Palestinian Islamic Jihad on Iranian TV (h/t to Free Will). Word for word:
There's another matter. In the discussion of the Holocaust the issue of fourThe Chief British Rabbi, Sir Jonathan Sacks, has noted a rise in anti-Semitism in universities in his country:
detention facilities is raised: Auschwitz, Struthof, Mauthausen and
Majdanek. Some were in Germany, and some in Poland. There are many issues
worthy of discussion: For hygienic reasons, they used to burn the bodies of
those who died of typhus or contagious diseases. This means the crematoria
were used for hygienic, not political, purposes, and even this was not
systematically. That's one thing. The crematoria... The gas chambers were
for disinfecting the clothes and the possessions of the prisoners. This too was done for hygienic reasons. In any case, the many researchers who studied this issue said that of the several millions who died in the detention
facilities, only 150,000 to 250,000 were Jews. This is a perfectly
reasonable figure out of the total number of victims. There is no need to
focus on this issue, to discuss it separately, or to present inflated
estimates. [Emphasis Added]
Boycotts of Jewish academics, student groups and Israeli institutions have become more widespread by groups and individuals opposed to Israeli government policy.Where is "diversity" now? He also had this to say:
Since 2002, Jewish student groups on 17 campuses have faced the threat of expulsion from fellow students opposed to Israeli government action.
He said that while the Jewish experience of Britain was generally good, British Jews were experiencing a globalised anti-Semitism through satellite television, e-mails and the internet. It is sad that he had to mark the 350th anniversary of the re-entry of Jews to England by Oliver Cromwell commenting on the still pervasive anti-Semitism.
