Hack: Howard Dean, chairman of the DNC, for failing to orchestrate a primary schedule that will give the Democrats the best chance to win in 2008. Seeing that there is no end game, he has now declared that July 1st is when the race should be over and not to wait until the convention. If you plan on playing by the rules (ex: Michigan and Florida delegates), then you can't start setting arbitrary deadlines now.
In the latest twist in New York politics, Rudy Giuliani is eyeing a run for governor in a special election this fall should Gov. Paterson be forced to resign, sources say.
The Post reported this week that state lawmakers started researching the line of succession after Paterson's first week in office was spent responding to questions about extramarital affairs and the questionable use of campaign funds.
If Paterson resigns before August, a special election would have to be held in November.

The Democratic Party chairman said on Friday he hopes the increasingly contentious rivalry between presidential hopefuls Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton can be decided by July 1 to avoid a fight at the party's convention.
"I think it would be nice to have this all done by July 1," Dean said on ABC's "Good Morning America" program. "If we can do it sooner than that, that's all the better.
